Christ On Mass by artscendence Christ On Mass by artscendence
Oil and acrylic on board.

A little some thing I'm working on, born from the experiences (the collective insanity) of christmas 2004. I prefer to celebrate Christmas, or the bringing of christ-consciousness to ones multidimensionality (the chain of being), in my own fashion. As the shaman (santa) do, I invite eternity to the table and together we each feast on knowledge of our own and our shared kinds. Through this rip, this port-hole to the other, we are able, each and everyone of us, to replenish our vital signs, to realise our cosmic god-ness and to manifest Thy intentions in a simple and happy waking life.

This is only my interpretation of events that may or may not have taken place within the infinite nature of Mind.

wow, i don't know what to say. It's beautiful. Real. Like the univerce was opening behind the green and the white colour interconnects it all. i feel that the sence of contiunity and oneness is very strong in this painting.

First off, one of the most fantastic pieces I've seen of this or any traditional art media. Is this. Silly habit of leaving sentences grammatically incomplete. Like this. Argh!

Sorry.

Anyway, I'm not going to try to interpret what you meant this piece to convey, as your description sounds terrifyingly philosophical and intelligent and I'd sound ridiculous if I even tried. But I like leaving extensive, vaguely incoherent comments for people to blunder through, so I'll say what I like, what it means to me and so on.

I love the overlapping textures; the vibrant green and its contrast with the mottled black background. And there's the smooth, delicately painted... heron? Bird. To me, the green signifies harmony and growth, and the little white buds in the right hand corner reflect this. I like the way they become a part of the foreground, white, like the bird and the long string of faces, as if they're becoming a part of reality from the blackness of chaos. Which ties in with the om symbol. Showing the 'interconnectedness of everything', to quote whatshisface... Douglas Adams' Dirk Gently. And I suppose this enhances the belief that Christmas is a time of rebirth and renewal. It's amaaaazing. And I'm going to shut up before I embarrass myself further. :aww:

Wow............Firstly, SORRY for the lateness of my reply. Wow............ This is my favourite response/comment to this work, nay, any work, I have ever received. Thank you. You got it exactly, interconnectedness and the awakening consciousness of our shared reality. Unreal, you have opened me up to a little more of myself with your insights into this piece, thank you again :D

Very cool use of the bird, nicely done. Perhaps try with other colors than red on the ground.

Not what you'd call a common occurance; one of the most unusual and fascinating images I've ever seen, and the handling of the media, especially in the textures of the background, is just astonishing...
Perfectly amazing.

You can get some very interesting starts on a work when you initiate the process with your favourite corduroy jeans as the brush. I felt restricted and confined by my usual techniques so I let go of what I knew and invited chaos into the room for a session, needless to say we are now quite good friends. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I'm happy the work found you friend :D

Hmm... I like the painting as a whole but I'm curious as to why the Hindu symbol for "Om" is used in there...

I have used the Om here as to me it represents the sound of the Cosmos, constant renewal in the process of birth and death. Ultimately it symbolises what ever meaning you, as a witness of the work in time, bring to it. As the author of the piece I am basically irrelevant to the work. :D

I'm not at all religious nor do I care for labels of the religious kind. To me Christ-conscious simply refers to not being divided within ones self, this is where I feel war actually begins. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I might make this available when it finds completion. :D
